Second album of this bizarre meeting of Japanese all-girl pop music crossed with power-drill electronics. Honestly, I’m still not convinced. I know there’s a kinda big thing in more highbrow circles these days to enjoy J-Pop and all that, y’know the “it’s all just good fun” brigade. Like, it’s an undisputable FACT that everyone inherently likes all pop music with a catchy tune and if they don’t it’s just denial on a grand scale. Well, I spent my time in Japan avoiding this crap cos it’s irritating. I spent most of this LP trying to ignore the pop bits and listen to the Hijokaidan parts, but even then they’ve got riffs and that. Wacky novelty: not what I signed up for!
